Admiralty House, Simon’s Town. I took this on the way back from the marathon a couple of weeks ago. It is very special to me because my wife and I shot our wedding pics in the gardens here.

One of the side-effects of the ongoing loadshedding in Cape Town is beauthful skies at night. On this evening my suburb was in total darkness, but you can clearly see that the next-door neighbourhood had light. So I managed to shoot this wonderful shot of the moonrise with a few start in the background.

I think that is Orion’s Belt on the top right.

You can’t visit Cape Town without a visit to the Penguins in Simon’s Town. The tourists live them, but I also has a friend whose house is in the beach and they regularily have penguins vising their house and nesting in their lounge!
They are really cute, but they stink as well!

A view of Table Mountain from Robben Island. This would make a great spot for a braai I think.

Here is my contribution to Sunday evening’s full moon. This is the closest the moon has been to earth in 20 years. I popped down to the lake to get the shots.

This one was a much longer exposure of the swings with the bright moon above (you can see me and my tripod bottom left).

The lower cable-station, looking from the cable car on Table Mountain. You can see Lion’s Head in the distance.

The traders on Greenmarket Square get ready for the day’s trading. Don’t you love the retro old Kombi?

Good morning. There was the most beautiful sunrise this morning, with the sunbeams shining down through the clouds into the mist, with the distant mountain peaks in the distance.
