Prague is a very musical city. We stayed right next door to the music academy, and many of the churches have evening concerts. And if you don’t want to pay anything just walk around and listen to one of the many buskers on the streets of Prague.

You can buy Absinthe on every street corner in Prague, and there are even some dedicated Absinthe Shops, selling everything from Absinthe ice-cream, cocktails and even dope-infused absinthe (which of course we did not try).

I am not sure if these guys are an official paid band or just buskers, but they were there all three times I was in the Prague Castle area. They are really good and sell their CD’s as well. I bet that if you visit the castle they were be there playing their tunes.

Update: here is a photo that my friend Hugh took of them in 2002, seems like they have been there for a while.

The Torture room at Prague Castle. Yes there is one in every city, but still kind of fun to shoot (in a strangely morbid way).

One of the guards at the entrance to Prague Castle. This is very much their version of the beef-eaters at the Tower of London.

The entrance to Prague Castle. While technically it is a castle, in my opinion it looks far more like a palace.

You can see the spires of St Vitus Cathedral from almost anywhere in Prague. A lovely and typically gothic cathedral.
